Frequented by all kinds including salty haired hipsters, hungry families and discerning locals, this is not your average pizza place. While all the usual pizza suspects are on the menu, more sophisticated offerings from the italo-aus menu showcase Australian meats and produce, 72hour fermented sourdough bases and fancy fare such as Confit Yellow Fin Tuna with grilled sourdough and green olive aioli: El Capitano has hit upon the right recipe of relaxed and hip dining with fantastic tasting food. And everyone is catered for here; Margherita, Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder, Smoked Pancetta or Vegan Zucchini Pizza anyone?? With a great craft beer list, El Capitano also takes the hassle out of traipsing around to every brew house in Queensland: just perch up here in one of the booths with your kids, the family and friends and watch the Hastings St traffic go by down below.
